User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:92.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/92.0
Steps to reproduce:
Press Ctrl+B open the bookmarks sidebar. I have no idea what else I did to make this happen, maybe Ctrl+H search for a particular site, delete site from history? Nothing should have caused the browser to get stuck in this state.
Actual results:
It opened, but continues to open on every new browser launch on every single window. If I open a new browser window via Ctrl+N this bookmark sidebar doesn't show up, but if I launch Firefox for the first time or if I create a new window by running the Firefox command from the terminal, it shows up.
Expected results:
This shouldn't show up on a new window lunch, period. I have no idea why it keeps displaying it and there isn't anything I can do to make it stop. If I change the sidebar to the history sidebar, it will still open to bookmarks every time. It is pretty infuriating.
Note, this is not the bookmark toolbar (at the top), this is the bookmark sidebar (on the left side)

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Alex B,
I was able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 20.04 using Firefox builds 94.0a1, 93.0b7 and 92, so I´ll mark this as "New" for visibility. Just to be sure I refreshed Firefox and set the customs settings as default and still got the issue.
Let´s wait for a developer to look into this.
Thanks,
Estanislao

I initially thought this was a XULStore corruption bug, but Estanislao confirmation would disproof that.

Could you please check if this regressed "recently" or it's an old bug?

It sounds like this went away for the reporter, and the needinfo for Estanislao has expired, and I cannot reproduce, so I'll resolve this as incomplete.
Estanislao, if this still happens please provide more details, and ensure you don't have session restore enabled and are closing the sidebar with the [x] and/or replacing it with the history sidebar before restarting.

Hi @:Gijs
I can´t seem to reproduce this issue anymore too. I think we can leave this as resolved WFM.
