When I follow the link in My T-Mobile to Billing Summary, a big chunk of the information that should be there is missing. When I view the source, I can see the missing information but it appears to be commented out (the text is light grey). The page loads with Netscape Communicator 4.77 (though it often freezes because of the scripting). I contacted T-Mobile using their online form - the response: Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. I suggest that you use a different browser to view our site, the reason for this is that we are currently experiencing issues with some browsers, example Mozilla and Opera. We are aware of this issue and we are striving to make our site more compatible with other browsers and hope to have this issue resolved in a timely matter. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time when this will be resolved. Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. If you have any other comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Actually, on second thought, I'm not sure if this should be evangelism or not...here's the comment that seems to mess everything up: <!-- ++ -- ++ NOTE: T-Mobile Friendly Name and phone number are passed via querystring. If as a third party vendor you are required to display this information, contact Rebecca.Nick@t-mobile.com (marketing) or Shaun.Olson@t-mobile.com (development) for more information. -- ++ -- ++ --> After this comment, everything remains commented out (green, not grey), until this comment: <!-- <eDocsSECTION=CheckSingleMsisdn2> --> And then the rest of the code is fine.
Josh, what is the DOCTYPE for the billing summary page? if you do right click, then choose page info what does it say for Rendor Mode? if it is CSS1Compat then they are in strict/standards mode and the HTML comments they are using are invalid.
In the Page Info window it says Render Mode: Standards compliance mode. At the top of the page in the source, after a bunch of newlines they have this: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Let me know if you need further information, as I realize you can't get to the page unless you're a USA T-Mobile/Voicestream customer.
Josh, they are using invalid HTML comments in an XHTML page. HTML Comments should not have -- inside of the beginning <!-- and ending -->. If you can contact the developer email your provided and let him know about this issue it may help get the issue resolved. Point him to http://validator.w3.org/ which is the World Wide Web Consortium's HTML validator page. It will validate his XHTML and demonstrate that the comments are invalid. Simply removing the -- from inside of the comment should fix the problem. confirming per comments.

Summary: Billing Summary does not load correctly in Mozilla (big chunk of code commented out) → t-mobile.com - Billing Summary does not load correctly in Mozilla (big chunk of code commented out)
My message to the developer address bounced, so I tried the marketing contact. She replied, said her team is investigating, and she'll let me know when she has more information...
Well, I haven't heard anything back, but the problem seems to have changed. Now I can't even get to the Billing Summary page - when I click on the link, it just takes me right back to the main login screen. This is the code for the link I click on: <p><span class="spcr">&nbsp;</span><a href="javaScript:displayedocs('True');" onMouseOver="window.status=' '; return true" onMouseOut="window.status=' '; return true"><img src="/images/arrow.gif" alt="" border="0">Billing summary</a></p> The relevant JS code at the top: function displayedocs(stemp){ if (stemp == "True") { self.location = "/mytmobile/getban.asp?a=1?token=0bbaa6161435001b8cf299ee<longertokendeleted>"; } else { alert("Your Detailed Account Information is currently unavailable. You will be viewing your Account Summary information"); self.location = "/mytmobile/account/billing_summary.asp"; } } If I manually try the first link, I get redirected back to the main page (same behavior as if I click on the link). If I manually try the second link, I can see the Account Summary information. I guess I'll try sending another email to their customer support.
