The new video path from bug 1653417 seems to work well on Intel machines but was causing kernel panics on M1 machines when used with software-decoded video, bug 1732677.
So we turned this new path off for M1 machines, in bug 1733148.

We should find a way to have software-decoded video hit detached mode in fullscreen mode which does not cause kernel panics on M1 machines.

We've found the way:
