Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:92.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/92.0

Steps to reproduce:

Used right-click left arrow to view previous pages then left-clicked the one I wanted to go to.

Actual results:

Got a different web page than the one I clicked on

Expected results:

I should have got the page I requested.

BUG FIX: Disabled page caching. Now works fine.

Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately this report is not very useful because it does not describe the problem well. If you have time and can still reproduce the situation or problem, please read https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html and add a more useful description to this report, including clear and complete steps to reproduce (step by step) as a list which leaves no room for interpretation.

By 'left arrow' I mean back button. Right clicking on it gives a menu of previous pages visited. The issue was that left clicking on one of the listed pages did not take to me the page shown.

On a previous visit to that page, FF had redirected me to another page. Re selecting that page took me to the redirection page (in the cache) not the the actual page listed. Disabling the caching of pages resolved this allowing me to see the correct page not the redirection cached.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mike,
I have tried to reproduce the issue on Windows 10, on Firefox Nightly 94.0a1 (2021-10-04) (64-bit) and Release 92.0.1 (64-bit) versions, but I could not reproduce it as well.
Could you answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue?

  1. Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create a new profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles

Can you test the issue while in Safe Mode (Safe Mode disables add-ons, extensions and themes, hardware acceleration and some JavaScript stuff in order to exclude some possible reasons for problems). You can find helpful info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode.

  1. Does this issue occur in the latest nightly version of firefox? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/

  2. Are you using any addons? If so, please list them. Please, can you go to Help -> More Troubleshooting Information and copy at least the "Add-ons" information into an attachment here?

If you are still able to reproduce it, please, share further information with us, like screen recording, or more specific steps.

I've assigned a component in order to get the dev team involved.
'Core-DOM: Navigation' team: if the component is not relevant please change it to a more appropriate one.

Regards,
Jerónimo.

Mike, do you have Fission enabled?
Load page about:support and search for Fission Windows.

Also, does the issue happen with Nightly?

Fission Milestone: --- → ?

Try disconnecting the internet. For some reason I get a 'no internet' page. Reconnect the internet, view another page and then go back to the cached page where you lost internet.

Do you get the actual page or the 'no internet' page ? I was getting the 'no internet' page and not the page I wanted.

Hi Mike,
I tried to reproduce the issue by disconnecting the internet, and then I got the normal page, not the 'no internet' page.
Please, can you confirm and reply the questions made in #comment 3 and 4? That could be helpful to us.

Thanks.
