Details
Open a new window with the toolbar visible and type an url 'apple' DONT hit the
enter/return key. Click on the white button on the top-right corner to hide the
toolbar. The URL field is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Enter, etc does not work, must close the window to make it disappear.
Easy to reproduce.
Build 1004 - OS X 10.1.5

I don't know if this can help.
On a link that's a javascript that open a new window and put a pict on it (no
url), if you hold down the command key with doing the click several types of
strange window are also opened (floating sidebar, strange yellow empty window,
always located near the bottom, never in the 'center' of the screen). Also have
to close the main window to close those strange childs.
I'll try to make an html to reproduce it.
I post it here because the behavior of the strange child are similar to the URL
field. Build 1004 and OS X 10.1.5

My cmd-click problem is 164486, it's one example, I had other strange window
too, not only the sidebar floating. Some kind of yellow, huge empty tooltip.
For the URL field floating I can reproduce with 10/09 OS X 10.1.5 french.
Confirmed using Chimera/2002100304 on 10.1.5. It's the autocomplete pop-up that
gets displaced to the bottom of the screen, and it happens whether you use the
titlebar widget or choose Hide Toolbar from the View menu. Revising summary.
See <http://greg.tcp.com/mozilla/Screenshots/173506.png>.
