Steps to reproduce:
Today, 10-13-21, I opened Thunderbird and it updated.
Actual results:
When I clicked on my Trash folder, it had zero messages, whereas on 10-12-21 it had over a thousand.
Expected results:
According to the info provided continuously by Thunderbird, purging of all messages in the trash folder never occurs. What is different now?

Now, less than an hour after entering this new 'bug,' the trash folder somehow restored the messages that were there yesterday. So, consider this bug resolved.
