Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:93.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/93.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Config a http(s) proxy in Settings.
  2. Visit: https://whoer.net/zh/dns-leak-test

Actual results:

Both local network's dns server and proxy server's dns server could be found in the results.

It seems Firefox tries to use local network's dns server even it is configured with a http proxy.

Expected results:

Only proxy server's dns server should be found in results, which is the behavior of Chrome.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Networking: DNS' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Valentin, was there some similar bug report recently?

Valentin, was there some similar bug report recently?

Maybe you're thinking of Bug 1724345? It doesn't seem related.

@Reporter - I'm unable to reproduce this bug.
Could you attach a screen capture of you reproducing the bug. Optionally a wireshark dump captured when you're loading https://whoer.net would help to determine if there are any outgoing DNS queries that are causing the bug.
Thanks!
