Steps to reproduce:
- Boot and sign into Fedora OS

- Firefox window does not open.
- Click icon again, Firefox application opens, but no bookmarks are displayed
- Quit Firefox - informed I am about to close 2 windows and 2 tabs even though only one instance of Firefox is open.
- Open Firefox again, everything opens correctly. Bookmarks are displayed correctly.
Actual results:
- Boot and sign into Fedora OS
- Click icon to launch Firefox
- Firefox window does not open.
- Click icon again, Firefox application opens, but no bookmarks are displayed
- Quit Firefox - informed I am about to close 2 windows and 2 tabs even though only one instance of Firefox is open.

This only happens the first I launch Firefox after booting and signing in. Does not happen when computer has only been locked or put to sleep and signing back in.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi,
Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create a new profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles Also, are you using add-ons? If so could you please list them? (please attach your about:support information)
Does this issue occur in the latest nightly version of firefox? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
I've assigned a component in order to get the dev team involved.
Thanks for the report.
Best regards, Clara.

Please try to run Firefox in terminal as
firefox --ProfileManager
and use the profile manager to select your profile. Which profiles do you have there? Is there any 'default' or so?
Also run on terminal
flatpak list
and attach the output here.
Thanks.

I see you have two profiles:
default-release
default
'default-release' is created as a backup sometimes. I'm not sure which one contains your bookmarks but when you run firefox profile manager (firefox --ProfileManager) you can select your profile a make it default - Firefox will pick it without questions.
So I expect you have selected the correct profile now.

I have to fully exit by pressing Ctrl+Q to close everything and it prompts me by asking if am I sure I want to close 2 windows even though I only see one window open. Once I exit and restart Firefox, it appears normal and I have no issues.

Do you still reproduce ? Are you using profile sync daemon [https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Profile-sync-daemon] by any chance?

Redirect a needinfo that is pending on an inactive user to the triage owner.
:stransky, since the bug has recent activity, could you have a look please?
