Steps to reproduce:

Firefox 93 (64-bit) on Windows Server 2012 R2

Scenario A

  1. Configure proxy settings under Network Settings to "Use system proxy settings"
  2. IE/system proxy settings are configured to "Automatically detect settings"
  3. Network has WPAD enabled

Scenario B

  1. Configure Network Settings in Firefox to "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network"

Actual results:

Scenario A

  1. Can access the internet using IE/Edge/Chrome
  2. No internet access in Firefox

Scenario B

  1. Internet access works correctly in Firefox
  2. WPAD appears to be working correctly

Expected results:

Scenario A

  1. Firefox should have read the system proxy settings correctly and used WPAD to detect proxy settings

Scenario B

  1. Results are as expected
