Steps to reproduce:
- Open a new tab.
- Search for "films du camelia" (on Google).
- Follow the link to https://lesfilmsducamelia.com/
- Click on the Back button or any page in its history menu.
Actual results:
The page https://lesfilmsducamelia.com/ is still open.
Expected results:
One should get back to the selected page.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::DOM: Navigation' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Some additional information, in case this is related: When https://lesfilmsducamelia.com/ is loaded, one gets the corresponding webpage, but without useful information: mainly some unselectable links at the top and at the bottom (I suspect some bug). When I switch to another tab, then the https://lesfilmsducamelia.com/ tab again, I get a blank page with a throbber at the center. This is always reproducible.

And if I open https://lesfilmsducamelia.com/ in a new tab from this bug report, I just get a blank page, and the Back, Forward and Reload buttons are greyed out.

When I closed the tab, I got the blank page with the throbber on every other tab, i.e. this affected the whole browser. I had to quit, then Ctrl-C (because I didn't get the prompt back).
This bug is not reproducible with a new profile, but Firefox takes several dozens of seconds to quit. So, even with a new profile, something wrongs happens.

I usually have 2 enabled extensions: OneTab and uBlock Origin. But the bug is still reproducible with only OneTab enabled.

Note that I cannot open anything in this tab, e.g. from the history or by changing the URL in the location bar. This may be why the Back button doesn't work (this is just a particular case of this more general issue).

Do you by any chance have Fission enabled? Load about:support and look for "Fission".
And if you do have it enabled, could you try Nightly. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/#nightly

Fission seems disabled:
Fission Windows 0/9 Disabled by default
Fission (Site Isolation) (fission.autostart) false
fission.autostart.session false
Note that to reproduce the bug, I need to follow the link from Google. If I directly enter the URL in the location bar, the bug is not reproducible. Or perhaps it is a bit more random.

Vincent, can you reproduce the bug if you disable the OneTab extension? I installed OneTab, but couldn't reproduce the bug.
Can you reproduce the bug in Firefox Safe Mode? Open Help menu > Troubleshoot Mode > Restart Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode.
FWIW, the https://lesfilmsducamelia.com/ page never seemed to finish loading for me. Firefox's tab spinner never stopped spinning. I think the page is loading new content for its carousel. Perhaps that interferes with Firefox's history?

Same issue on https://www.festival-lumiere.org/les-editions-precedentes.html
After some time, Firefox shows "This page is slowing dow Firefox. To speed up your browser, stop this page.", but this has no effect, and the Back button doesn't respond.
