This started after the last update. Sometimes Thunderbird crashes all the way down when this artifact starts.

Maybe try disabling hardware acceleration in the Thunderbird preferences.
I will see if 91.3.0 still does this then I will disable it.
I have noticed the last 4 or 5 releases use a lot more CPU resources than previous releases. I am only using the Email portion nothing else.

I cannot find where hardware acceleration is located. Would you please advise.
With the latest release the video artifacts are getting worse.

I just updated to the latest 32bit version . TB did not notify me there was an update. I found it looking for Hardware Acceleration.
Hardware acceleration WAS NOT CHECKED!

I now have version 91.10.0 (32-bit). The screens still get corrupted after a period of time after starting Thunderbird. I have this behavior with or without hardware acceleration. Windows 7 SR1

Perhaps 102 will be better? Give it a try in a couple weeks.
