1739822 - Please migrate the "Primary Password" prompt to Proton / in-content modal

Proton brought one change I like particularly: in-content modals (e.g. screenshot/A, Close window and quit )

I like them because they guarantee blocking visibly, comes with a helpful greying of the content, and cannot be moved away accidentally.

Contrarily, I'm frequently annoyed by the Password Required - Please enter your Primary Password. - [Cancel] [Sign In] modal, which wasn't migrated to a Proton / in-content modal and remains a "traditional" window modal (see screenshot/B). I find it annoying because:

1. Under some circumstances unknown to me, it is sometimes seen as a separate window by my desktop (GNOME Shell), but sometimes not. So, it's not always Alt-Tabbable to.
2. Some window management things I seem to do will sometimes cause the modal to be backgrounded (and un-findable, visually or in alt-tab or in GNOME's "Activities" menu), leaving me with a Firefox window that appears functional, but is actually unresponsive to all input, requiring me to kill it :-/
3. And of course, from a UX consistency standpoint, it's weird to have other modals migrated but not this one.

Are there any reasons to omit this particular modal from being migrated to in-content/Proton? Can it be migrated?

Note: please re-triage to the right Firefox Component, I added this bug to the closest Component I could find, but it's probably not great.

Thanks, emsy. Indeed, I'd love to see this design used for the Primary Password prompt.

And by the way, another annoyance of the current traditional prompt, to add to the list I wrote above:

• The Primary Password prompt pops up "asynchronously", typically easily a few seconds after Firefox launching, and steals focus. So, suppose I launch Firefox, then alt-tab to another window to type something, e.g. a chat window where I start typing to a friend. Then, when the Primary Password prompt shows up, it'll steal focus and I'll be typing inside the password box, undesirably stealing input I wanted to type to my friend in the chat program, not as a password. Super annoying.

Thanks for opening this enhancement, I checked the design on win10 and MacOS 10.15 with latest nightly 96.0a1 by going to about:logins after enabled primary password,

i will set it as new for the devs to take a look at it.

Bug reporter here. A quick note that this became less of an issue since a few days ago (circa Nightly 99.0a1 or 100.0a1 ~ early March 2022), when the traditional Please enter your Primary Password started to pop immediately on Firefox launch, mitigating a lot of the annoyances I listed above.

As such, leaving open but feel free to close as WONTFIX. Thanks for Firefox.
