Details

(Whiteboard: [closeme 2022-10-15])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/95.0.4638.69 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

I have deeper structure of folders, e.g. Local Folders/Suppliers/Suppliier 1/, Local Folders/Suppliers/Suppliier 2/ etc.
New messages arrive and they are sorted into corresponding sub-folders according to filter rules.

Actual results:

If I have folder Suppliers collapsed upon new messages arrival and there are new messages which are sorted into its subfolders, the folder Suppliers has an asterix.

If the folder Suppliers is not collapsed (so I can see its sub-folders), the correct subfolder has an asterix. If I open folder Suppliers, its sub-folders do not have asterixes and it is not possible to find, where new message sits - I have manually click each sub-folder one-by-one and look. Previous versions of TB marked sub-folders as well as main folder.

Expected results:

Sub-folders should have asterix whether its parent folder is collapsed or not.
Setting mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new to TRUE has no effect.

As I wrote, previous version of TB (before 91.3.0) marked sub-folders correctly whether its parent folder was collapsed or not. Now I am not able quickly find new messages.

Reporter, do you still see this issue when using version 102?
