Steps to reproduce:

Cold start Firefox. While waiting for the homepage to load, you may begin typing your URL or search query.

Actual results:

When the homepage finishes loading it will clear user input and replace it with the homepage URL.

Expected results:

Do not replace URL content if the user is in the process of typing a URL or search term.

Correction to the Steps to reproduce:
While waiting for the homepage to load, place your cursor in the URL bar, ready to begin typing. Wait for the home page to load, then begin typing. The input it prepended to the URL of the homepage.

Actual:
The URL bar should be ready to accept the user's intended input if the cursor is placed in the URL bar, even before the homepage loads. Often, the amount of time it takes to move your hand from the mouse to the keyboard is the amount of time it takes for the homepage to load.

Hi Michael!
I've tried to reproduce this issue but couldn't. I did it in the latest version of Nightly 96.0a1 (2021-11-15) (64 bit) on Ubuntu 20.04.
Could you check if it is reproducible on Nighty and tell us about the result? You can download it from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/
If still happens, please add some screen recording showing the problem. It might help us a lot.

Thank you Michael for the information.
I was able to reproduce it on latest Nightly version 96.0a1 (2021-11-15)(64-bit), Beta 95.0b7, and Firefox Release 94.01 on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04.
I've followed these steps:

1. Chose a website and set it up as a Homepage (e.g. www.microsoft.com).
2. Launch Firefox and before the homepage loads, click on the URL bar and wait until the website is loaded.
3. Write some text.
   Actual result: the address bar shows the text written next to the URL website.
   I'll set flags accordingly.
