Steps to reproduce:
- Switch to the calendar tab
- Double click on event synchronized with Google calendar to show event edit window
Actual results:
View event window appears with Edit button.
Expected results:
Edit event window appears as in past versions of Thunderbird, not view event window with Edit button. When I open event to edit it, I don't want to view it, but to immediately open the editing mode.

When I double-click an event in my Google Calendar, it opens in a dialog with an Edit button.
Clicking the button opens the event for editing.
I can also right-click on the event and select Edit from the context menu,
That's not working for you?
Are you using the Provider for Google Calendar extension?
-
In previous versions of Thunderbird, double-clicking on the calendar event was enough to open a window for editing. There is no need to display read-only event information in extra dialog. The tooltip that appears when you hover over a calendar event is enough to display this information.
-
I can't select the Edit command from the context menu because this command is disabled.

Yes, I'm using Provider for Google Calendar extension

Thanks for the update.
So the dialog opens without the Edit button because it is a read-only calendar, but doesn't show all the information?
You were able to edit an event in a read-only calendar before?

Looks okay to me with what information I entered.
Provider for Google Calendar has bidirectional access to Google Calendar so it is possible to read (view) and write (create, edit, delete) the calendar event.

So it isn't a read-only calendar, the extension has a bug that doesn't display the Edit context menu item, and you don't like needing to click the Edit button?
Yes, right. What is the purpose of displaying a dialog that displays an calendar event when the same information is displayed within the edit dialog?
In addition, event information is also displayed within the event tooltip directly in the calendar.
