Steps to reproduce:

Viewed an email in Thunderbird on Windows 64-bit, version 21H1, build 19043.1348.

Actual results:

Sometimes a web address in an email is not hyperlinked, so I can't just click on it to open it in a browser. This is not a rare thing in Thunderbird.

Expected results:

Can you add a feature that if you select text containing a web address, then right-click, the option "Open link in browser" will appear of the menu?

The other option is to make it that all web addresses are automatically hyperlinked, but I suppose there is a reason why sometimes it's not, and I don't know if it's by design.

Is this an HTML email, and the author did not make an address an actual link, but just text?
You can already right-click and search for a text term (and there is the browser.search.defaultenginename setting for that).

Yes, I think this is an HTML email that the author did not make an address an actual link, but just text.
I know I can right-click and search for a term. But I don't want to search for the link, I want to open the link in the browser. It's much more convenient. I find this an annoying issue. I would appreciate if someone could fix it.

Another option is to make a setting that even links in an HTML email that were written as plain text should appear as hyperlinks, basically overriding the author, but I think the first option is better.

I think this feature is already in Firefox. It would be nice if it was added to Thunderbird as well.

I think in Firefox you have to select the entire link then right-click, in order to get this option.
It would be nice if you could right-click anywhere on the link to get this option, without having to select the link first.
