Steps to reproduce:
On any GitHub project page, clicking the "Code" button to download code.
Actual results:
A busy animation is shown, and it never finishes.
Expected results:
It should show a window offering the options of downloading a .zip or clone the source.
Similar situation for selecting a branch.
This appears to be a web compatibility issue, as this works using Firefox 94.0.1 and using Chrome.

Does installing the web components polyfill add-on help for you? I was seeing similar issues with GitHub (and also GitLab), but after installing this add-on in SeaMonkey 2.53.10.2, the problems are gone.

Yes it seems to be a workaround.
This is not a fix for the problem though - both Firefox and Chrome work without needing a specific add-on.

Maybe so, but would have been too much for you to write 'Thank you' as well? People don't have to offer you help.

Thanks for responding, and it's good that there is some understanding about this incompatibility and therefore hope that it might be fixed in the browser at some point, but sadly this isn't any real help. The problem is that Seamonkey is becoming increasingly hard to keep using because of many incompatibilities. Not the Seamonkeys developers fault of course - it's Googles repeat of Microsoft's IE playbook, helped by all the framework and web developers that keep using "new features" and won't test on anything other than Chrome, and expect all users to constantly update their operating systems, hardware and web browsers to be "the latest" rather than doing the work to make their code backwards compatible. I just thought I'd do the right thing and report the problem, rather than doing what most other users do (and what Google wants me to do), which is to switch to Chrome.

An alternative workaround is to use the Palefill add-on, which has the advantage of fixing various other problems with GitHub (e.g., Bug 1777775) that the aforementioned web components polyfill add-on doesn't.
