RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1742865

People

(Reporter: david.holdsworth, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:94.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/94.0

Steps to reproduce:

it happens every time on Firefox 94, and never on earlier versions including Firefox 93. It does not happen on chrome either. (If this is a new enhancement, it is a veery bad idea.)

Sorry, I do not know how to get the User Agent String, but About Firefox says "94.0.2 (64-bit)". This appeared with an automatic ubuntu upgrade. I am still running 18.04.

Actual results:

Repeated refreshes open new levels, so you have to do loads of backs to get to where you came from. You can see this at:
http://settle.ddns.net/WALGOL/N/KDF9/5Brian.htm
If you click "Run this program" immediately under the text box. Every time it does a refresh the back trace gets longer.

Expected results:

Every refresh should just refresh the page without changing the back trace. And this is what it does on Firefoox 93 and also on Chrome. Not tried Edge. Running on ubuntu.
