Greetings.

I am using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020610

Oftentimes I have xmms playing mp3s while I am browsing with Mozilla and
the browser will hang/freeze. I have noticed that if I bring up xmms and
press "stop" then Mozilla will become "unstuck" and work just fine. The
strange thing is that this happens even on pages that don't seem to contain
any audio. I think the geocities '404' page not found page is an example.

I'm not sure why Mozilla is trying to open the audio device in these cases,
but it would be nice if it could do it in a non blocking way.

Thanks and good luck!

Justin
flash has a habit of doing what you have described (see bug 58339). if you are
seing this on pages witout flash, please upgrade to a newer build. 1.1a is
quite old.
