We are in the middle of an upgrade of an Oracle Application that will server oracle forms over the web. Oracle has written a Java Based Plugin / App called Jinitiator. It worked well in 1.0 but today I upgraded to 1.1 and 1.2a and both versions do not respond to the plugin. Mozilla is also un-able to do multiple sessions of Jinitiator which would be most helpful.
I also have the Oracle Jinitiator plug-in, any external URL to test it with ?
Also see related bug, #164815 The behaviour is inconsistent. Some times it *does* work!
I'm running v1.2.1 build 20021130, windows 20000 sp3, and cant get any version of the Oracle Jinitiator plugin to work.
Please change status to CONFIRMED. I can confirm it is not working. I have tested both with Mozilla 1.4 and Netscape 7.1!. The Jinitiator plugin appears in about:plugins, but when I try to load a web page that uses it... NOTHING. It is as if the plugin was not installed. Just in case and for the record, the Oracle Jinitiator plugin version I'm using is reported by about:plugins as: Oracle JInitiator File name: NPJinit1319.dll JInitiator 1.3.1.9 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-jinit-applet;version=1.3.1.9 Java Applet Yes application/x-jinit-bean;version=1.3.1.9 JavaBeans Yes I also have Sun's JVM 1.4.2_01 installed (latest available). The plugin I'm using can be downloaded from: http://crm.hutchison.com.ar/jinitiator/us/jinit_download.htm The test URL is: http://crm.hutchison.com.ar/dev60cgi/f60cgi?config=menu I'm not an expert in Jinitiator, so I can't comment on the source code of that test url. (Someone with java knowledge please take a look at that source). Can anyone get a contact at Oracle?
Seems like a setup issue here... There are different versions of this plugin. You must have the version that is required by that particular installation. When I view the source of that particular URL that you have pointed out it seems that version 1.1.8.16 is required by your installation. But since you have version 1.3.1.9, it doesn't work. Try installing ver 1.1.8.16 and things should be fine.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
