The check was added in bug 550527 to circumvent a bug in QEMU in the
Maemo SDK. Maemo is long gone, the bug in QEMU is long gone, and even
more importantly, the code that triggered that bug (and used the
QEMU_CANT_RUN_JS_SHELL variable) was removed in bug 563728, 2 months
later (11 years ago).
