When a text file contains line feeds these are not used to break pages when
printing.

Um.. Why would a line feed break a page? You mean form feeds?

Assuming you mean form feeds, it's a dupe of bug 92250 (use formfeed while
printing). But see also bug 106311 (don't display on screen) and bug 174532.
Note that these characters will only work in text/plain documents, not in html.

Oops twice! Confused line feed and form feed. And doing that missed bug 92250
when I searched.
