User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/94.0.4606.61 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a recurrence from another email address and invite yourself to the recurrence
- Open a recurrence event with the invited account
- Change your participation status
Actual results:
This will create a recurrence exception for the event you have opened.
Expected results:
There is no way when opening a recurrence event to choose whether you want to edit the whole recurrence or a particular occurrence.
The only ways to edit the whole recurrence are either via email or via right-click: Attendance, Complete Series.
The user should have the correct information about what they are doing.
Either add an interface when opening the event asking if he wants to edit an occurrence or the whole recurrence.
Or add in the summary interface, for recurrences only, additional buttons to choose the different cases (acceptance of the recurrence or the occurrence)

I haven't carefully reproduced this yet, but for editing events in general, we do have a choice between editing single or all occurences.

Also note that for invites, there may be certain limitations on what you can edit.

This is how it looks for me after receiving an invite for recurrent event in TB 91.5.1 (64-bit).

Steps to reproduce:
- Create a recurrence from another email address and invite yourself to the recurrence
- Open a recurrence event with the invited account
- I understand that you have received an email message with the .ics recurrent event invite (which is shown in the screenshot above - is that the situation you are talking about?)
- How exactly do you "open" the recurrent event? (Which UI elements do you use? step by step pls)
- Change your participation status
- Could you elaborate a bit about the exact action element which you are choosing from the UI?

I'm sorry if I didn't go into enough detail.
From the calendar interface, I opened a recurrence event, where I am invited. There is no choice whether to edit only this occurrence or the whole recurrence.

I confirm my participation in the interface I have opened.
My participation is accepted just for the day I had clicked to open the recurrence event.

I see, thanks for the further explanation.
I stumbled upon this problem myself, which comes down to the Acceptance toolbar not being aware of the even being recurrent, and not offering the ability to Accept or Decline all events.
