For context, this addon hides and/or auto-answers the cookie consent dialogs that websites are legally required to display in the European Union and United Kingdom. Without it, or without a similar cookie consent management addon, the experience of using the web in this region is similar to using it without an adblocker: poor at best, unusable at worst.

Kevin, can you please talk to product about the long term plans here so that we can correctly respond.

From the discussion in Github the extension works in nightly so this bug is not something that the Geckoview team is responsible to fix.

Hi Kevin, thank you very much for your reply. Can you please point to where and against what this issue should be reported? You are the one who originally suggested it be reported here against Geckoview::WebExtensions (in: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/22918).

The extension works in nightly, indeed, by creating a custom list of addons, if I understand correctly. We are asking for Mozilla to allow the extension to work in the regular release: it is not in the list, yet it is extremely useful for EU-based users.

Thanks!

I said API work is tracked in Bugzilla. There is no evidence that this extension needs API work.

Hi Kevin, thank you very much for your comment. Yes, I agree, I don't think that this extension needs API work, as far as I understand.

Would you please be able to point out where the community should ask that this extension be included in the list of installable extensions of the regular release of Firefox Mobile? Myself and others would be very happy to open a ticket there, if we only knew where.

Thank you!
