The biggest annoyance with mach python-test for me is that when a test fails, it's often buried in 1000s of lines of output from passing tests. A simple solution is to log the failed test output at the end so it's always readily visible.
It might also be good to use a less verbose output format by default in pytest, but this change should be beneficial regardless.
