Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.10.2

Steps to reproduce:

Use default SeaMonkey with a new profile and perform a Google Search.

My UA - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.10.2

Actual results:

Google Search Results shown in a basic non-JS mode (Mobile?)

This is caused by the default UA string of Firefox/68.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.10.2

Expected results:

Google Search Results to be shown in a full featured JS Mode.

This can be made to happen by choosing just 'Identify as Firefox' in Edit.Prefs>Adv>HTTP Networking or by setting a site specific override for any Firefox68 version>=

Surely this is a feature?

Surely this is a feature?

Historical records show that the ' feature?? ' bugzilla joke was last found to be funny around the year 2007.

Maybe not funny, but true.

Anyhow, if it's a bug, it's in the search site, and will disappear or be realised differently when UA strings are de-fanged.

Perhaps the people who cash Google's cheques at Mozilla might be able to move things in the interim.
