Hey Karl,
would you please be able to capture a profile of this happening on your machine?

As a reminder here are the steps to report a perf problem in Firefox:
https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/performance/reporting_a_performance_problem.html

Attaching your about:support would be also most useful.

Thanks :)

I recorded a profile but I don't see anything very specific.

Hope it helps julien

I don't see anything specific either, and especially not the CPU and Memory going to 100% usage... Are you still seeing this Karl?

The initial report on webcompat.com
https://webcompat.com/issues/86201
was linking this to https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/a04936e1-9f07-4baf-8e85-168490210908
but indeed this seems to be gone.

Indeed, the issue no longer occurs. I can play the "Cube" animation now without crashes and high CPU usage.
