Not sure if this is behind some permission, but I can see a "pen" button on my comments that let me edit them (added in Bug 540).
I don't think comments can be removed, but they can be hidden by adding specific tags to them (see https://wiki.mozilla.org/BMO/comment_tagging)

Hi Nicolas - I don't see that pen button - perhaps its an admin only feature ?

This probably is a duplicate, but that's the wrong bug to dupe to since that's a bmo-specific bug and this bug report is about upstream Bugzilla.

bug 540 is probably the proper upstream bug to dupe to, but checking a couple things before marking it.

OK, yep. Bug 540 is it. This feature is present in the upcoming Bugzilla 6, we just need to get it freaking released.

Actually, re-reading the original description, I take that back. This was about BMO specifically, and they do already have this feature, just have it administratively disabled for most users, which is a policy decision on their end. The original duplicate was correct, and this bug is in the wrong product.
