Details

In the Toolbars / customize dialog, if the "Use Small Icons" checkbox was checked, changing the "Show:" pulldown menu from "Icons" to "Text" and then back to "Icons" again causes the "Use Small Icons" checkbox to become unchecked. This is an annoying and unexpected behavior since the "Use Small Icons" checkbox was never touched, so the user didn't want any change to the state of that checkbox. That checkbox should remember its state even when it's disabled.
It may be a dupe of bug 171731
No. Bug 171731 concerns icon size/type persistence across sessions; this one occurs within a session while using the toolbars customisation dbox, and is addressed as part of attachment 101643 [details] [diff] [review] (bug 172517) (note that this patch has been superseded, though it isn't marked as such). However, this probably *should*, IMO, be fixed separately anyway.

This is not a bug. Disabled and checked does not denote "this feature is not activated," it denotes "this feature is activated and you can't change it." Disabled = whether or not you can change it. Checked = whether or not it's on.

Blake --- please read the original description more carefully, it seems that you do not understand the issue. The bug is *not* concerning a disabled but checked checkbox; that is not the behavior in this situation. The bug is this: the checkbox loses its checked state even though the pulldown ends up in the same state it started in. The user tried to put everything back the way it was originally, but the checkbox unchecked itself without user intervention. Perhaps trying this out for yourself would make it clear.
