STR:

  1. Click on a mail server's mailbox (not a local one). A popup appears telling you to "enter your password for" your account on the server.

  2. Enter an incorrect password. After several seconds delay, another popup appears telling you that the login to your account failed. It has three buttons: "Enter New Password", "Cancel" and "Retry" (the default).

  3. Click "Enter New Password". The same popup reappears (which is the bug). Click on "Enter New Password" again and everything proceeds normally.

I've seen this on Thunderbird 91.5.0 and 91.4.0. I'm using an IMAP account.

I'm running Thunderbird on a Mac. But I have no reason to think this bug is Mac-specific.

At some point I'll test with nightlies to find the regression range.

This no longer happens in Thunderbird 102.2.0. I've no idea what fixed it, so I'm marking it WORKSFORME.
