Details

In the latest Daily (98.0a1 (2022-01-12) (64-bit)) on Sway/Wayland with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1, pressing Ctrl-C after selecting content in an email no longer copies it to the clipboard. To reproduce:

  1. Open an email (can be HTML or Plain Text)
  2. Select a few words in the email using the mouse cursor.
  3. Press Ctrl-C to copy the selected words.
  4. Attempt to paste the copied words into a compose window or into another program. Observe that the pre-existing content in the clipboard (if any) is pasted, not the selected words.

Note: Copying using the right-click menu still works as expected. Also, using Ctrl-C from the About dialog and Preferences window also work as expected.

Thanks,

I'm also able to reproduce the issue on X11 and on Windows. Adjusting Platform to match.

OS: Linux → All
Hardware: Desktop → All

Thanks for the regression range.

Perhaps the cause is from mozilla-central

Version: unspecified → Thunderbird 98

Could be bug 1749667

Good call. I think you're right. I'm unable to reproduce with 98.0a1 (2022-01-13) (64-bit). Marking as a duplicate of that issue.
