Running on the current Beta channel, opening or saving attachments no longer works properly, in both cases (Open or Save) a dialog opens with a blank filename.

Not sure where that UI is from?
Opening/saving seem ok on daily.

That UI is the Mac save dialog, the problem is that its not being populated - no file name for example - and that in this case I was trying to "Open' not "Save".

I upgraded to 99 today, and have not seen it since - its (somwhat) intermittent and I never was able to figure out WHEN it occurred to provide more info, but was certainly happening recently pre-update. I'm fine if you want to close the bug, and I'll re-open if it occurs again.

Wayne, the name is being filled in, but one of the related symptoms - that started with the same update - is still happening.
Double click, or Control-click is still not opening attachments, I have to detach (which now shows the name), then open from the OS.

Mitra, thank you for following up on this! Please provide detailed STR etc. to make this actionable, you know that, don't you ;-)
- Numbered STR please, every click/double-click/etc.
- Details about the type of attached file
- How many attachments selected
- Which UI elements did you use (context menu etc.),
- Details about your settings for
Files & Attachments
in the prefs, esp. for the relevant file type
- Actual Result
- Does it happen with
≡ > Help > Troubleshoot Mode…
?
- Does it happen with
- Expected Result
- Why would you expect Ctrl+click to open attachments? Is that a MAC feature?

Thomas - Ctrl-click on mac is like right-click on PC, brings up context menu
STR:
In three pane view (folders / list / message)
Click on any message showing it has an attachment
Ctrl-click where it says "1 attachment : Blue logo.tiff" (this is not dependent on what type of file)
A menu opens up a context-menu Open; Save As; Detach; Delete
Clicking on any of these except Open bring up another dialogue
Clicking on Open does nothing.
Same applies, if I click on the ">" next to 1 attachment and ctrl-click on the specific file
Files and Attachments settings:
Suprisingly all of them except "PAGES" and "file" say "Save File" , I did not change these from the default (typically open with Preview or Calendar etc).
I am happy to change them back, but might be useful to understand how these got reset to an odd value, so I've left them as is for now.
If I restart in Troubleshoot mode - those Files & Attachments preferences for these filetypes are missing, however the behavior is identical.
There are no errors in the console during the STR above.

This is worksforme. Mitra, still having problems on 102?
Tested on TB 102.2.0 (64-bit), macOS Monterey Version 12.3 (21E230) - my first test on Mac, yay!
Used a .jpg image for testing.
- When double-clicking or opening an attachment, TB will ask, initially with
(o) Save File
radio box pre-checked. - Confirming
Save File
correctly suggests the full file name (w/o extension) in the save
dialog. Extension is shown in Format selector on the dialog and correctly saved. Extension is missing (only in Format selector, still correctly saved) whenAlways ask
is preset in Settings for the file type (cosmetic bug). ( ) Open with [suitable app]
is available; if chosen once, new radio
default seems to be remembered for that file type the next time, but will still
ask unless told otherwise.Do this automatically for files like this from now on
works as expected.

Iirc, FF was changing something and made Save
the default, but the resulting TB problem has also been fixed.
If you are still having issues, please try to remove offending file type entries in the settings and see if that fixes the problem.

@thomas D, this stopped happening for me when I returned the Files and Attachments settings to something normal.
I think the real bug was whatever cleared all those settings out.
Since noone else reported it, I think WorksForMe is appropriate.
