The current/previous extension implementation made it difficult to support taking a screenshot of an SVG or other XML document. The new browser component implementation should be able to support this with little or even no extra effort.

I'm linking to bug 1396199 where this was previously requested and closed as WONTFIX on the extension

This is now working when screenshots.browser.component.enabled is set true. I'll block on the bug to enable that pref by default before we can truly consider this fixed.
