Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:96.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/96.0
Steps to reproduce:
I chose to open a PDF in the standard application for my system. Standard action is to download.
Actual results:
No matter if I choose "download" or "open in standard application", it opens downloaded PDFs in LibreOfficeDraw, when clicking on them. I can surpass this by choosing a custom program, and it stays even when converting back to automatically download it.
Expected results:
It should take my systems standard application.
Libre Office Draw isnt even listed as an application for ".pdf" anymore, and it was below Okular always.

Which is what application, configured how? You're on Linux, so there are a number of different places this information is stored, and it is not clear from this report where you've configured which application should open PDFs.
Libre Office Draw isnt even listed as an application for ".pdf" anymore,
Listed where?

Hello I have tried to reproduce the issue with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS using firefox 98.0a1 (2022-02-07), unfortunately I don't know if I managed to reproduce the issue.
As the steps used to reproduce:
- From about:preferences I have set to open PDF with system default application.
- Opened a demo PDF file from google.
Result:
Firefox downloaded the PDF file and opened it with Document Viewer as it is my default PDF program.
Is this the issue you are encountering also?

Maybe its a problem with KDE, but Okular didnt work normally.
Now it works, normally saves the file but when opening it it uses Okular. Dont know it the workaround caused it.

Hi!
I used the KDE settings to apply the standard applications. They are stored in ~/.config/mimeapps.list
.
Using the Workaround I think I could trick Firefox into accepting Okular as the opening program, while the main action still is to save the pdf. I think it was also the problem when using the firefox download "file manager" to open the standard pdf program.

Looks like this is a duplicate of bug 1304650 - unfortunately it seems like KDE doesn't correctly expose its defaults through the XDG free desktop spec, see bug 1304650 comment 9. I'll ask around to see who knows how to fix the situation there, because I don't think any of the (largely front-end) owners of the relevant bugzilla component fit that category.
