Steps to reproduce:
After updating Windows 10 Education 21H2, 19044.1466 - Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0
Also caused an update of Firefox with the result that setup and all bookmax were deleted. I also could not use Firefox to log in using WAYF. I chose to uninstall Firefox and reinstall. Now Firefox will not run after rebooting windows. I get the following message: "Firefox is already running but not responding. The old Firefox process needs to be terminated to open a new window."
There are no Firefox processes running because there is a reboot and it is checked again moxilla processes.
What can I do to get Firefox running again?
Actual results:
After rebooting windows. I get the following message: "Firefox is already running but not responding. The old Firefox process needs to be terminated to open a new window."
Expected results:
That Firefox run.

- Open File Explorer and paste the following into the address bar:
%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
- Open each profile folder and delete the parent.lock file.
- If the problem persists, see the following support article for other possible solutions:
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding - Your old Firefox data is probably in an old profile. See the following article for directions to recover it:
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Startup and Profile System' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi
Thanks for the help. The help I have received from you does not lead me to a solution.
The solution / error was that my profile on PCs was made invisible. When I made my profile visible again, after a clean reinstall I could open Firefox again. I think my profile was hidden when updating Windows.
Close the case and thank you very much
