:gijs, in looking the mercurial logs, it could be related to the fixes for bug 1752159.
We made a pdf.js release yesterday (see bug 1752574) but it's very likely unrelated (at least in considering that this bug has been filed 3 days ago).

If I had to guess I'd sooner guess bug 1741076.

The screenshot shows that the download happened (downloads icon is blue) but the panel hasn't shown. I don't see why that would happen for PDFs as a result of 1752159.
