Steps to reproduce:

Upgraded Thunderbird in the background using automated application on local machine

This issue may have come back from being previously corrected

Actual results:

prefs.js ended up being corrupted and Thunderbird acted as a new client

Please note: Thunderbird profile is located on NAS server and accessed via direct address (eg: \nas2\networkshare\user\Thunderbird\profiles\abcdefg.default). NAS server is very stable and has not rebooted in months.

Expected results:

normal upgrade

Need a method to backup prefs.js more regularly to protected configuration (add-on maybe)
