User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:96.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/96.0

Steps to reproduce:

I have just updated to 96.0.3 from 95.0.2. I am using windows 10 on a desktop pc.
When I start firefox and look at bookmarks the spacing is now very large. I have attempted to switch on browser.compactmode in about:config but this no longer works.

Actual results:

I have a lot of bookmarks and so when the new UI was introduced I reverted to the old one in order to keep the spacing between bookmarks. This was satisfactory for some months but with v96 I am back to the very large spacing between bookmarks. The other changes with the new UI are not a problem but this is.

Expected results:

Browser.compactmode should be controllable by the user. Alternatively some other means of adjusting the spacing between drop down lists is necessary.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Go to about:config and set "browser.compactmode.show" to true
Go to Customize toolbar
Select Density
There you have 3 options now (Normal, Touch and Compact).

Thank you for your assistance, sadly it does not work. The three options are Normal, Touch and Compact (not supported).
I will try to attach a screendump to this bug.

I have tried selecting Compact (not supported) but unsurprisingly it does not work.

Customize toolbar then Select Density does not allow Compact mode.

Interesting...Compact works for me just fine on the latest version of firefox if you activate it that way
