Once a Home group has been assigned for startup, the Home button always opens
the home group in new tabs.

This seems like a usability issue. On startup, it is truly a great thing to
have this group opened. But, on hitting the Home button this is no more than an
annoyance.

Perhaps additional properties, or an Advanced button could be added to the
preferences here.

An alternative would be bookmarks that open groups. That would solve the issue
without preferences enhancements.
Do you want a group of pages as home page (group) or not?
If you want: you got it.
If you don't: choose another home page.

If you want a group of pages only after startup, but not when you press "Home"
later, then just disable the home button in your preferences and add a bookmark
with your desired single home page to your bookmarks toolbar. You may even call
this bookmark "Home".

> An alternative would be bookmarks that open groups.
Those exist already.

If I did understand everything correctly, this seems like a Wontfix candidate to
me...
It seems to me that this is as designed. The Home button is going to your "home
page" which you've defined as a group of tabs. The UI says clearly says "Home
Page" and whatever you've defined there is what the the Home button should be
taking you to.

As this bug report stands (the Home button does the wrong thing) it should be
resolved as INVALID, not as WONTFIX.

If the reporter wants additional functionality to define a startup page as
distinct from the "home page" then a separate bug should be filed against that.
Agreed.

What the reporter could do is remove the home button from the personal toolbar,
and label a regular bookmark as "Home". That way on startup, the group is
opened, and when "Home" is clicked, a single page is loaded.

Reporter sent me an e-mail and stated that he wanted a group at startup, but one
single home page.
He wanted the possibility to separate startup from home page, that's what I
thought and why I proposed WONTFIX.
However, the reporter says it's ok and he will do as I proposed.
