User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:96.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/96.0
Steps to reproduce:
Simply opened Thunderbird and even pressed retrieve mails from server.
Actual results:
Thunderbird worked fine for years. Now it won´t retrieve the mails from the server. (POP.3, Thunderbird Version 91.5.1 32 Bit)
Expected results:
Retrieve the mails from the server.
NOTE: Believe it or not, I was recognizing the problem 2 days ago, tried to fix it with boards and comments via google search and now as I wrote this report, suddenly all mails came in. Not sure if it should be considered "solved" or if it just worked by chance. Maybe more users will report about the problem?

Ok, only one of my 2 adresses was retrieved from the server, and not even all mails. Just sent another testmail and I can´t retrieve it.

Bug 1752842 describes a similar problem of fetching new mails doesn't work on startup, but works when "Get Messages" manually. Seems your problem is a bit different. Can you get some debug logs by using MOZ_LOG=POP3:5 thunderbird to start tb?

Thank you for your input. In the meantime it seems to be working again (maybe only temporarily) but I would like to provide the logs anyway, just in case. I have to admit though that I did not find where to put "MOZ_LOG=POP3:5 thunderbird".
in Windows+R it does not work, in the console I moved to the thunderbird folder and tried to use it as start command for thunderbird, that did not work as well.

Bug 1752842 comment 17 mentioned it's been fixed on the gmx side.
I guess on Windows you need to start the CMD or PowerShell, then type MOZ_LOG=POP3:5 (maybe the full path here)thunderbird. Maybe you can drag/drop TB executable into the CMD after typing MOZ_LOG=POP3:5 to get the full path

I tried it with the " with out the " with space in between without space and with .exe and without .exe at the end of thunderbird, but it just tells me the comand MOZ_LOG is either wrong or could not be found. Sorry, any other idea?
