Just surfing with round about 10 tabs, RAM is at 86%, Firefox takes 1 of 4 GB. Firefox shows 18 processes, don't know why. Maybe FF doesn't close tabs properly.

Expected results:

not crashing suddenly all the time

Maybe I have had an issue with the pagefile from Windows, which could have been corrupted. After deactivating it, the crashes have stopped immediately. But memory usage from Firefox is still high.

Hello Siciliano,
I tried reproducing this issue on the latest versions of Firefox Nightly 99.0a1, beta 98.0b6 or release 97.0.1 but no crash occurred for me using your steps. Were you doing something specific other than the already give steps before the crash occurs? Any specific sites where this happens more often?

Can you test the issue while in Safe Mode? You can find helpful info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode .
Testing with a fresh new profile could help. You can find more about creating a new profile here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile .
If possible, you can test this issue on the nightly build as well. Download the build from : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/ .

I tried to reproduce this issue on Firefox 96.0.3, Firefox 105.0 and Nightly 106.0a1 on Windows 10, macOS 12, Ubuntu 22.04 but I was unsuccessful.
Closing this as RESOLVED-INCOMPLETE due to the lack of answer from the reporter. Please feel free to re-open the bug if the issue is still reproducible after following the instructions from Comment 4. Thank you.
