Build: 2002-10-18-08-trunk (OS X)
1. From http://jimbob/trigger3.html, enter
http://jimbob/jars/f_addfile_diffperms_osx in File URL field
2. Click Trigger button
3. Click Install button from dialog
4. Click OK button confirming installation successful
RESULT:
Install.log looks correct...files installed. File permissions are incorrect.
All installed files show -rw-r---r--. Extracting xpi from zip utility does
preserve file permissions.
EXPECTED RESULT:
-rwxrw-r-x xpinstall1.txt
-rw-rwxr-- xpinstall2.txt
-r-xrw-rwx xpinstall3.txt
-r--rwx-wx xpinstall4.txt
Nominating for beta. I'm not sure how important this one is, so I'll put it on
the radar for now.
I forgot the ".xpi" :-(

I'm not sure I agree with the nsbeta1-. If binaries lose their permissions, and
they do, then it seems to me that non-binary files would have to be considered
as well. Changing nsbeta1- to nsbeta1 to get on radar for formal triage with Samir.

Installer triage team: nsbeta1+/adt2
Probably a libjar issue.
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla1.4beta
The files in f_addfile_diffperms_osx.xpi all have perms of 644. I then unzipped
the archive, changed permissions (each file having a different permission from
each other), zipped them back up, and tested this new .xpi file
The permissions were preservered in install under osx and linux.
marking this as worksforme now.
Please reopen if someone is seeing something different from me.
