Steps to reproduce:

OS: Window 10
update to 97.0

Actual results:

no bookmarks are show in bookmarks tool / bar or elsewhere.

places.sqlite is filled with stuff, it's just not shown.
Recovering from booksmarksbackups folder is not working, with "the backupfile can't be processed"

Expected results:

list all bookmarks ofcourse ;)

Please do not set the tracking/priority/severity flags. They are used for our own triage, setting them could actually cause your issue to be missed.

Ideally an issue like this should be first reported to our support site at https://support.mozilla.org/

As a first step, please try this:

• Go to Help -> More Troubleshooting Information
• Find the "Places Database" section
• Select the "Verify Integrity" button
• Copy and paste the output into an attachment here (there's an attach new file button at the top of the comments section, but it lets you paste as well).

(short notice about 97: the version splash display in the help menu, has render issues. Content does not dhow up after opening the window frame, it shows up when content is forced to rerender. OS: Linux)

Presumably, restarting Firefox hasn't fixed this.

If so, please can you try manually moving favicons.sqlite and see if that helps? To do this:

• Locate your profile folder in the file explorer.
• Shut down Firefox
• Rename favicons.sqlite or move it to a different folder.
• Start up Firefox
• Run the integrity check again.
