Steps to reproduce:
This one is a long one, I successfully reproduced this with Google, but the initial issue originated in Protonmail:
1- Open a Gmail account (existing or new)
2- Open google calendar (Ticktacktoe menu on the top right) and select the settings cog in the top right corner
3- Create two test calendars named "test 1" and "test 2"
4- For both "test 1" and "test 2", set the calendar to public by selecting "Make available to public" for each calendar
5- Copy the private link for both the "test 1" and "test 2" calendars into a text editor. Find this by scrolling down to the "Secret address in iCal format" section
6- Exit out of the settings view via the arrow on the top left
7- Create an event in the "test 1" calendar called "test-1". Create a separate event for the "test 2" calendar called "test-2"
8- Open Thunderbird and add a "new calendar".
9- Use the following options: "On the network" set to true-> "This location doesn't require credentials" set to true, paste in the link for the "test-1" calendar into the "Location" field.-> "ok". I'll call this thunderbird calendar "testCal" for next steps.
10- Verify that the "Test-1" event is present in the Thunderbird calendar under the "testCal" calendar
11- Edit the "testCal" calendar (right click -> properties) and paste the link for the "test 2" gmail calendar from your text editor.
12- Click "Synchronize" on the top left.
13- Check the "testCal" calendar events
Actual results:
No change was observed in the calendar events of "testCal". "testCal" continued to display the "test-1" event and restarting Thunderbird/synchronizing had no affect on the calendar's ability to obtain data from the new source.
Expected results:
- The old event ("test-1") from the "test 1" google calendar should've been deleted
- The new event ("test-2") from the "test 2" google calendar should've been displayed.
