I switched to 1.2beta and now I can not bring up any other windows listed under the "Window" menu. For instance, when I select "Mail and NewsGroups" or "Composer" or "Address Book", nothing comes up. Also, the icon for chatzilla seems to have disappeared. I also tried the daily build as of today and have the same problem. The windows do not come up with CTRL-1, CTRL-2 etc either.
Reporter: please next time use Bugzilla helper to report a bug: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?format=guided Did you istall 1.2b over the previous version of Mozilla? Close Mozilla and try deleting the file components/compreg.dat in Mozilla directory and see if the problem still exists. If yes, go to Tools -> Web Development -> JavaScript Console and post any error messages you see there to this bug.
I removed my default profile directory C:\Documents and Settings\Joseph\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\... and now everything is working fine. I had tried renaming my XUL.mfl file, but that did not fix the problem. I had installed MultiZilla in a previous version of Mozilla, perhaps that was the problem? In any case the problem is gone now.

verified as per comment 2. Patrick, we usually use INVALID for resolving things that are not Mozilla bugs; and WORKSFORME for bugs that "been there and then disappeared".

WESHA: i think best would've been duping this to the main compreg.dat bug. In this case i chose INVALID (over WFM) because the reporter actually needed to do something to fix it and i considered that not to be a mere "works for me" argh...one of those mondays ;)
