From bug #126919: Just installed the 1.1 beta build with xft support for RedHat 8.0 from the RPM files provided at the mozilla ftp site. The xft support is OK. I only have the following remark. When I go to select Mozilla fonts in Appearance / Fonts I can't chose any other font than "Palatino Linotype" for Cyrillic and Greek encodings. In other encodings I can select all the fonts. And - yes I'we got some Cyrillic and Greek fonts instaled and properly configured - including the MS fonts from Windows. The cyrillic fonts are working fine with other xft2 applications like GNOME and KDE from RH8. Also the Cyrillic fonts are working fine with the very same mozilla in the main window when you surf - so I can see Cyrillic Verdana on www.mksoftver.org or www.bagra.net.mk so I suppose this is a tiny bug. Hope I hellped - have fun.
Congratulations! On Mac OS X, you can't choose _any_ Greek (Hebrew, Arabic) font. Says there are no fonts installed... and you can only choose a few very bad Cyrillic fonts, while one can actually choose any font for Hindi.
> Just installed the 1.1 beta build with xft support... This should be 1.2 beta build - my mistake in typing.
Are you on Red Hat 8? Can other applications see the correct fonts?
Yes I'm on RedHat 8.0 and I use the RPMS from: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.2b/Red_Hat_8x_RPMS/xft/i386/ In RedHat 7.3 I used th RPMS from: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/experimental/xft/Red_Hat_7x_RPMS/1.0/i386/ and they did NOT have this problem. The fonts are configured and working fine with other xft2 applications from GNOME2 and KDE3 like I said. Eaven the mozilla-1.2b-0_rh8_xft can see them so when I surf some cyrillic page written with Verdana font - the font is fine, but I can't select some other font in the Appearance / Fonts - Preferences dialog. I suppose it's an interface (toolkit) font problem because if I start the mozilla with the LANG=en_US.utf8 localle the intreface font is the same as the GTK2 font - tahoma, but when I start it with LANG=mk_MK.utf8 the font is that ugly "Palatino Linotype" font that is the only cyrillic font recognised by mozilla interface.

Is this still the case?
