User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:98.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/98.0
Steps to reproduce:
Down load a PDF (or picture) file using the "download button" in the default viewer.
Actual results:
The file is downloaded correctly but the on-going download progress pull-down menu is also displayed. A click is required to dismiss it.
This is an irritant and requires an extra click on EVERY download!
Expected results:
The download progress pull-down menu should not be displayed by default.
It should only be displayed when the download progress button is clicked.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Downloads Panel' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

You can turn off browser.download.alwaysOpenPanel
in about:config if you find this behaviour annoying. We will likely add a context menu to the downloads panel for this in a future version of Firefox.
