In FF 98.0.1 the mouse does not scroll on any site in the browser. On stand alone apps or MS apps it works fine. This definitely began when I installed and restarted with the update. I have seen this issue mentioned by other in the bug DB.

Details

Steps to reproduce:

Installed and restarted in 98.0 & 98.0.1

Actual results:

Mouse does not scroll on sites within these versions of the browser.

Expected results:

For the mouse to have continued working as usual. It's not the mouse! It's a high end logi wifi mouse and kybd combo. Works fine on all other apps outside of FF.

Mouse works fine in 98.0 here; as such input methods are lower in the software stack it's highly unlikely this has anything to do with Firefox code.

Does the problem still happen if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? (Safe Mode disables add-ons, extensions and themes, hardware acceleration and some JavaScript stuff in order to exclude some possible reasons for problems.) See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
And does this also happen with a new and empty profile? See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile

Where? Please provide references for statements.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Panning and Zooming' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Panning and Zooming
Product: Firefox → Core

Can you run https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ to determine which change caused this for you?

Based on the symptoms, this is more likely a Windows widget issue. We can revise the component if we get a regression window.

Component: Panning and Zooming → Widget: Win32
