Steps to reproduce:

When trying to use the Calendar CalDav authentication, it failed due to one or more special characters in the password. On changing the password just to include alpha-numerics the authication was successful.
This occured with zoho.com but from research this could be because there is not clarity in the encoding standard. Zoho confirmed they use UTF-8 but perhaps Thunderbird/Lightning/CalDAV authentication uses a different standard.

Actual results:

Repeatedly bounced back to enter the password

Expected results:

With any password including special characters I expected the authentication to be successful.

Perhaps if the issue is encoding, UTF-8 can be added.
