176210 - default IMAP mail location under Windows - change/prompt

This might be more of an enhancement request vs. a bug, I'm not sure.

By default, the location for the local mail store seems to be beneath the user's
windows Profile directory.  At least that's where it put it for me.

The problem here is that since it's in my Windows Profile, it will follow me
around in my roaming profile.  That is, when I log out of my PC, it will attempt
to copy all of this (possibly large) data back up to the roaming profile server.
 When I log into a conference room PC or back home, it'll try to download it all
again.  This could take some time.

I guess my preference would be to use the windows "My Documents" location (which
here is defined as a network drive on H:\Documents), or perhaps just some
arbitrary location under the Mozilla program directory.  Or perhaps give the
user a chance to review/specify it during the install or mail account wizard
process.

you can change the location of your imap files by edit | mail account settings
and click on the server settings. We're not going to change the default, and we
do give you the option to change the setting so my feeling is that this bug
should be marked invalid or wont fix. Hardly anyone is going to want to change
this setting, so having to change it through account settings seems like an OK
place to do this.

OK.

Although I disagree that "hardly anyone" will want to change the default.  For 
better or for worse, Windows is the OS on the majority of corporate desktops.  
If we want Mozilla to succeed in corporate environments, making it as Windows 
corporate-IT-friendly as possible will help in that effort.  I believe this 
change will assist.

I guess all I'm asking for is that perhaps if the user chooses the "Custom" 
installation, that the location for local folder storage is then prompted for 
as part of the install process.

However, I understand that there are multiple priorities, so please do close 
this out if you wish.

Mozilla as with other applications should comply with the windows specification
on where to store profile data, and mozilla does the right thing.
